The Maharaja Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur has opened up about his close relationship with his godfather Prince Charles, calling him 'the most special person'.
Padmanabh 'Pacho' Singh, 21, who is worth an estimated £500-£650 million, was crowned as the unofficial Maharajah of Jaipur in 2011, and is a member of the former ruling family of Jaipur State, in present-day Rajasthan, India.
He has now opened up about his relationship with the British heir to the throne, 71, whom he says he sees around once a year, calling the royal down-to-earth and friendly towards staff.
He told : 'Prince Charles never makes you feel you're in the company of someone that popular or important.'

Although his title is not officially recogised by law because India is a federal parliamentary democratic republic, the title is still highly respected.
It was bestowed to him when his grandfather died, skipping his mother due to her gender, and his father - a former household staff member - because he had no royal blood.
While he carves out a role for himself in the 21st century, Pacho revealed he looks to Prince Charles for inspiration.
He said he sees the royal about once a year, but is always amazed by how 'aware' the Prince of Wales is about his life.

Pacho said every time he sees the royal, Prince Charles knows 'exactly where I am and what I'm doing'.
He went on to say he admired the way Prince Charles treats those around him, including the staff.
He said: 'He'll ask everybody what their name is and how they are....that is something I have learnt from him, to ask people behind-the-scenes how they are and what their names are, if there is anything you can do for them.'
Like his grandfather, Bhawani Sing, Padmanabh, is an accomplished polo player and the youngest ever member of a World Cup polo team in 2017 and the youngest winner of the Indian Open Polo Cup.

He also revealed he had played polo alongside Prince Harry, 35, and Prince William, 37, whom he regards as friends.
He called the royal brothers 'wonderful gentlemen', adding that they were doing a fantastic job in their royal duties.
Pacho, who was named in Tatler's most eligible bachelor's list last year, has strong connections to the UK, having attended Millfield School in Somerset before returning frequently for polo matches.
He studied in New York studied liberal arts at New York University in New York, where he said he discovered 'Netflix and sushi'.

In September 2018 he moved to Rome to study art, telling the : 'I lost my heart to Italy; it is the most beautiful country in the world. With its old buildings and grand architecture, it always feels like home.'
