Adam Brody hit the beach Monday for a surfing session in Malibu, California, sporting a thick new beard.

The 40-year-old actor wore a full black wetsuit and covered up with a black bucket hat adorned with a yellow smiley face along with plenty of sunscreen.   

The typically clean-shaven star showed a new look with full, dark facial hair.

Adam and wife Leighton Meester, 34, revealed in April that they were expecting their second child together.

They also have a four-year-old daughter Arlo.

They were married in a private ceremony on February 15, 2014.
