Paris Saint-Germain have taken up their option to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan, splashing out a huge £52million in football's biggest transfer since the coronavirus outbreak.
The striker had been on loan at the Parc des Princes this term from the Serie A side and his impressive form has led to him signing a deal which runs until the summer of 2024.
It ensures the Argentine's career at the San Siro finally comes to an end following a bitter fall-out over the last 18 months.

Inter announced the departure on their website in an incredibly brief 47-word statement for a striker who had formed a key part of their attack following his arrival in 2013 from Sampdoria right up until the mid-way point of the 2018-19 campaign.
The statement read: 'FC Internazionale Milano announces the transfer of Mauro Icardi to Paris Saint-Germain FC: the striker, phượng hoàng cổ trấn born in 1993, has permanently moved to the French club.
'The Club thanks the player for the six seasons he spent with us and wishes him the best for his future professional career.'
Relations at the San Siro deteriorated throughout 2019 after he lost the club captaincy
