Manchester United's legendary kit man Albert Morgan has lifted the lid on some of the more outlandish stories behind the scenes at Old Trafford during Sir Alex Ferguson's glory years - including the time former player Steve Bruce shovelled sewage out of their dressing-room when he was Sunderland manager.

Morgan was alongside Fergie from 1993 and 2013, remains good friends with his former boss and tử cấm thành is so famous among United fans, he works alongside former playing greats in speaking to corporate hospitality guests at Old Trafford.

One stand-out memory was the 2010 trip to the Stadium of Light when a sewage pipe burst in the United dressing-room causing the kick-off to be delayed.

'There was a "drip, drip, drip" with a bucket underneath so we thought it was a leak in the ceiling,' recalls Morgan. 'The boys were getting ready, all walking around this bucket and went out on the pitch for the warm up.

'We'd been there for a few minutes and one of the security guards came and he said "Albert, I think you better come in the dressing room, that bucket's getting a bit full". By the time we got back in the changing room the bucket had been changed to a bin.

'Well, we walked in and they had these ceiling tiles, before you could say "whip", one of the ceiling tiles just burst out. S*** everywhere! The gaffer just got out. It was all over the suits, the clothes, up the walls, up the ceiling. Berbatov was going mad about his shoes, his shoes had just sunk in three inches.

'You couldn't save a thing. Everything was gone. Shoes, suits. The only thing we could do was go into the lads' socks and shoes to get the jewellery and watches. This is ten to three. The game kicks off at three. They had to put the game back half an hour.

'Steve (Bruce) comes in a door at the back of the dressing room. He had this brush, it must have been 14-foot wide. And there's big Brucie coming in at the back just shovelling this s*** out of the dressing room. We just put the suits in black bags and destroyed the lot.'

Morgan, who had fortunately brought a spare kit in which United played out a 0-0 draw, described the scene in the Manchester United official podcast which is out on Sunday.

He also talks about the 1997 Charity Shield which ended with David Beckham wearing a No7 shirt with his name spelt wrong and having to race to the United superstore to buy Mark Bosnich a new jersey shortly before kick off at Old Trafford because his yellow one clashed with Arsenal.






Morgan also revealed that striker Dimitar Berbatov was furious that his shoes were soaked







Morgan had fortunately brought a spare kit in which Ferguson's United played out a 0-0 draw
