Former England star Kenny Sansom has spoken for the first time since the attack that left him fighting for life with severe head injuries, according to reports.
The 61-year-old is thought to have fallen and suffered a serious head injury during a disagreement and was subsequently taken to hospital.
The former England and Arsenal great was unable to recall the incident but The Sun claim he has now told family holding a six-week hospital vigil: 'I'm in a bad way.'

Samson remains in a critical condition and the report claims his friends fear the former defender has suffered permanent brain damage as a result of the incident.
But they have allegedly been lifted by his recovery, with former Gunners and Crystal Palace team-mates reportedly having visited him in hospital.
The report also claims Samson may be moved to a rehabilitation centre in Surrey nearer his family, with former stars offering to stump up the cash.
The news comes a week after the same outlet reported that Devon and Cornwall Police had questioned a 60-year-old man suspected of attacking Sansom on April 7.

The former Arsenal full-back has a history of alcohol problems and was reportedly out drinking in Exeter on the day of the alleged attack.
Born in south London, Sansom started his career at Crystal Palace before joining Arsenal in a £1million deal.
He spent eight years at Highbury, winning the League Cup in 1987, and was a fixture at left back for England, through the World Cup tournaments of 1982 and 1986.
He went on to play for Newcastle, Lạc Sơn Đại Phật QPR and Coventry, Everton, Brentford and Watford before three brief spells in non-League.
